Judge Dean Malcolm, Victoria, Australia had no hesitation in tapping out Marleycote Patricia 20th as his Grand Champion. “She was an obvious winner today such a beautiful cow displaying quality throughout.”

In the picturesque Welsh valley Judge John Teasdale, Brafell herd, Dumfries decisively taps out Irthingvale Watzon Meg 2nd from Rachel Brindley Watkins as Champion. Commenting on the intermediate cow John states “she is my type of cow, well built, with lovely bone quality she is without question an easy winner today.”

I’d firstly like to start by saying thank you to Bath and West Dairy Show for the great honour of judging the Dairy Shorthorn classes. I’d been very much looking forward to it and it turned out to be a great pleasure for both Debbie and I. At the end of the day we felt we had been very spoilt and it was so good to meet friends old and new.

Under the scrutiny of Judge Rob Kite, Cotonhall herd, Stafford, the Churchroyd and Breckney herds dominated the Dairy Shorthorn ring at the Great Yorkshire Show this year. Claiming the Championship was Churchroyd Bronte Wildeyes 46th from IRG Collins & Partners, for Rob Kite “there was simply no getting past this cows unbelievable mammary system”.
